If you live here in Rockport or have visited, you most likely have driven on Nugent Stretch along side the train tracks.
I was driving one early evening towards Gloucester from Rockport (Massachusetts) and noticed this glow around these known invasive plants (Phragmites australis) alongside the train tracks. It was so beautiful to me, I pulled over and took pictures at every angle I could to capture the foliage, plants and tracks.
I never imagined myself wanting to paint railroad tracks, though I refer to them frequently when situations in life align or may need help getting back onto. They are significant to many of us in different ways.
Although invasive or man-made, there was beauty and inspiration I saw that day. I also at one point painting noticed a couple light paint strokes I made which inspired me to include the cars with their headlights on... It made sense since Nugent Stretch is alongside the tracks.
(This infamous stretch is in fact named after the Nugent family of 13 kids and their farm dating back to around 1876)
