18x24 Acrylic painting on gallery wrapped 1 3/4 canvas.
Jaco Pastorius (1951–1987) was an influential American jazz fusion bassist and composer, widely regarded as one of the greatest and most innovative electric bass players of all time. He is best known for revolutionizing the bass, turning it into a lead instrument using a fretless, technical, and melodic style.
I created this painting of Jaco because he influenced so many musicians, not just bass players... He created a path, a style that has led other musicians develop there own style knowing that there isn't a fret needed to reach that note/ octave, just hold tight and let the strings sing your melody.
